If you are allowed to wear make-up, it’s important to know not just how it looks on you, but also what’s in it. All make-up you buy should have the ingredients listed.

• Color additives (what gives make-up color) have to be approved for use near the eye area by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The dark color additive “kohl” is not allowed in the U.S. because it may cause lead poisoning. Make sure that your make-up does not have kohl in it, but it is okay if the word “kohl” is in the name of a product or used to describe the color or shade.

• If you are worried about animal safety, it’s good to know about labels. If a product says “cruelty free,” it is still possible that the ingredients of some products may have been tested on animals in the past. They just may not be testing on animals now. You can always call the company that makes the products to find out what their testing methods are.

• What’s the deal with “hypoallergenic” make-up? Hypoallergenic means that a product is less likely to cause an allergic reaction, but it is not a guarantee that you won’t have one. Even if it says “all natural” or “organic,” it is still possible that you may be allergic to the ingredients. The same is true for products that are “dermatologist tested.”

It is easy for germs to make their way into your mascara and other make-up. Do not share your mascara with other people – you will just be swapping germs and increasing your risk of infection! You should also never add water or your own spit to dried out mascara. Why? More germs. It is best to throw mascara away after three months, and make sure you remove yours before you go to bed at night. Mascara flakes can fall into your eyes while you sleep and cause an infection.

Loreal Bare Naturale Mineral Makeup Review

Our Loreal mineral makeup reviews is on their mineral foundation.  Physicians recommend mineral makeup ingredients, but not all.  The Loreal mineral foundation would not be a product we would use everyday, due to the ingredients, but it is a nice mineral foundation to use in a pinch.

1.  The Loreal mineral foundation coverage was nice, and even.  The downfall is we did have to apply it in layers, and be careful about not buffing it into our skin for safety reasons.

2.  The mineral foundation applicator brush is connected to the sifter jar.  This is truly convenience, but hard to wash after each application, as is appropriate for any foundation application tools, mineral makeup, or chemical makeup.  If you’re going to use the Loreal mineral foundation use a different mineral foundation brush to apply.

3.  The Loreal mineral foundation makeup lasted  around 3 hours during all of our workday.  We don’t sweat, or do hard labor, and this seems to be average longevity for any of the mineral makeup brands with ingredient fillers, such as biron, bismuth, or mica, so that we dealt with.

4.  The Loreal mineral makeup shades are comparable to their chemical foundations.  This allowed each of us to easily choose a mineral foundation shade.

5.  The quantity of product in the Loreal container is minimal, it’s less than one of Colour ID Minerals , Cory Cosmetics, Luxury Mineral Makeup, other Matte Mineral Foundation brands 10 gram aka .35 oz containers. 

6.  The price of the Loreal mineral foundation is in line with other known store brand cosmetic companies such as Covergirl, Revlon, etc.  $14.99

7.  Loreal mineral foundation is easy to locate and can be purchased almost anywhere including Walmart, Walgreens, Target, etc.

If we were out of our Colour ID Mineral Foundation, couldn’t find our other favorite mineral foundation Physician’s Formula at the drug store, we would be content to purchase the Loreal Mineral Foundation to use for a day or so.
