A Note From RAESIN IMAGES Cosmetics Founder about shiny skin and large pores: Rae Kat Switzer, RAESIN IMAGES Cosmetics founder and one of our formulators says "I don't prefer shine on the models and women I work with, especially for photo shoots, like brides. Nor do I want shine or glow on my own face, unless I put it there intentionally. Heck I'm 40 something and at this age most women suddenly become either very dry or oil slicks, and have larger pores due to age and skin damage anyway, who wants to accentuate that? The shine from bismuth oxychloride and mica is in almost all mineral foundation brands. It may be ok for those that like a slight glitter look to their dry skin (we carry our Illuminization Colour ID Minerals Foundation product), but the majority of woman I know and talk to on a daily basis, do not want their pores to look large, have makeup or skin care products settle in them to cause shiny greasy looking skin. Greasy skin right there up front, not great in a job interview, or in photos that's for sure. Women require matte foundation, and glow mineral or other makeup cosmetic products were we put it. That's not because we're vain, it's because the industry has made us "think" no one has shine or any type of pores. Heck, babies have pores, it's how our skin breathes. Look at men, then have pores, does anyone knock them for looking human? No, but that's another aging story." :) |
